Arrived in Mungwi/ angekommen in Mungwi

On the way to Kasama we found that truck brocken down in the middle
we stopped once at the market beside the road to buy veggetables
And where you see the car, there is the entrance to Nabwalya- we just past by. But one day I will go there



After the missionary retreat I moved now to Mungwi
nach der Missionarsfreizeit bin ich nun nach Mungwi umgezogen

I could drive with other Missionaries (Hertlers and Dr. Christina) up to this place
Ich konnte mit anderen Missionaren (Hertlers und Dr. Christina)hier hoch fahren

It was a long trip of a whole day. We started at 5.00 o'clock in the morneing
Es war eine sehr lange Fahrt über den ganzen Tag. Um fünf sind wir losgefahren.

The first days I lived in the guesthouse of Weisflogs than I finally moved to Mungwi
Die ersten Tage verbrachte ich im Gästehaus von Weisflogs und schließlich bin ich nach Mungi umgezogen.

Mungwi is a more rural area, but I like it
Mungwi ist eine sehr ländliche Gegend was ich sehr mag.

When I first went to the clinic which is just 2 Minutes away there were so many people, most of them mothers which childs. It was so crowded
Als ich das erte Mal in die Klinik ging die nur 2 Minuten entfernt liegt war alles so Menschenüberfüllt

Children cried, it was hot and sticky and a not so nice smell in the air.
Kinder haben geweint, es war heiß und stickig und ein etwas unangenehmer Duft in der Luft.

So much grief. And two days ago a small child diedin here. Its different than in Germany. Absolut different.
So viel Leid. Erst vor zwei Tagen starb ein kleines Mädchen hier im Krankenhaus. Es ist so anderst als in Deutschland.

A realy bad thing is the Malaria outbreak at the moment it's worse than normal.
Richtig schlimm ist der Malariaausbruch zur Zeit. Schlimmer als bisher.

Many people die because of it. And there was a big hole of medicine. In the whole countrie the Malaria Medicine was gone.
Viele Menschen sterben an Malaria. Die Medikament waren im ganzen Land ausgegangen.

A clinical person told me, that paople can have here Moskitonets for free at the clinic.
Ein Krankenhausangestellter erzählte mir, dass die Patienten hier kostenlose Moskitonetze bekommen

the problem is just that they use the net which could save them from the bite of the special moskito which is only night active and conferrals the illness, for something else. Some use it for fishing, a women prepaired her wedding dress out of it. The mentality is so different.
Das Problem ist nur, dass viele die Netze für ganz andere Dinge verwenden, die einen zum fischen und eine Frau hatte sch sogar ihr Hochzeitskleid daraus geschneidert. Die Mentalität ist einfach ganz anderst.

And when a familiy owns a net or two just the adults will sleep under it but it is much more important for the children to get protected. But children are not so valuable or esteemed in this culture, so noboday cares for them.
Und wenn eine Familie ein oder mehrere NEtze besitzt dann schlafen für gewöhnlich nur die Erwachsenen darunter. Dabei wäre es viel wichtiger für die Kinder. Aber in dieser Kultur stehen Kinder nun mal ganz unten in der Reihe.
